Streamline Your Website Change Requests: A Simple Guide to Faster Updates with Refari

Place your video embed code here using <iframe> or other video embedding HTML tags.

Introduction

We want website updates to be smooth, accurate, and quick for everyone involved. A little structure up front helps us avoid back-and-forth and makes sure we build exactly what you have in mind.

This guide explains how to submit great change requests, when a quick video really helps, and what sits inside (and outside) standard website support.

What This Guide Is For

This process is designed for one-off website changes, such as:

  • Page content edits
  • Layout or section tweaks
  • Design refinements
  • Bug fixes

For ongoing or bulk publishing, see the "Repeat Content" section below.

How to Submit a Change Request

All change requests should be logged via our support system. The clearer the request, the faster we can move.

Our Recommended Template

Feel free to copy and paste this straight into your ticket:

Subject: Website change request, <website name>

Page URL(s):
The exact page(s) where changes are needed.

Requested changes:
Please list each change as a separate bullet and include:

  • The page and section
  • Exactly what should change
  • Any specific wording, colours (hex codes), fonts, or links

Assets or references:
Links to documents, images, or example websites.

Priority:
Must-have or nice-to-have.

Video link (if required):
Loom or browser-based recording.

What We Mean by "Actionable" Feedback

Actionable feedback is feedback we can implement without guessing.

Great Examples:

  • "On https://example.com/about, update the hero headline to 'Our Approach to Talent'."
  • "Change the background colour of the services section to #002F6C."

Less Helpful Examples:

  • "I don't like it."
  • "Make it pop."
  • "Try something different."

If we are missing key detail, we may pause the request and come back to you for a bit more clarity so we can get it right first time.

When a Video Really Helps

Some things are just easier to show than explain.

Please include a short screen-recorded video if your request involves:

  • More than five changes
  • Layout or structural adjustments
  • Interactive or behavioural changes
  • "Make it like this other site" requests

Recording Options

  • Loom (our preferred option)
  • No-download, browser-based recorder: https://recorder.jam.dev/TTYLBrm

Two to three minutes is usually plenty. If something is hard to explain in writing, we may ask for a quick video so we are on the same page before we start.

Example of a Strong Request

Page: https://example.com/about

  1. Update hero headline to "Experts in Ethical Recruitment".
  2. Set hero overlay to #000000 at 40% opacity.
  3. Remove apostrophes from headings in the "Our Values" section.
  4. Make each team card fully clickable.

Repeat Content and Ongoing Publishing

To keep support fair and sustainable for all clients, ongoing or bulk content publishing sits outside standard website support.

What We Consider Repeat Content

This includes content that is published or updated regularly or in high volume, such as:

  • Job adverts
  • Team profiles
  • Blogs, news, case studies, and events
  • Testimonials or reviews
  • Bulk SEO edits or repeated page uploads

As part of your initial setup, we are happy to upload up to three examples per content type and show you how to manage the rest going forward.

If you would like us to handle ongoing content updates, this can be arranged separately and agreed in writing.

Eligibility

This process applies to websites built and managed by Refari. You can confirm this by checking for "This website was built by Refari" in the footer.

Conclusion

Our aim is simple: fewer emails, faster turnarounds, and results that match what you are expecting.

If you are ever unsure how to frame a request, just ask—we are always happy to point you in the right direction.
